The weather forecast is looking manky today but the weekend isn’t too shabby

It’s looking awful.

What happened to it being spring? It feels like we’ve skipped to November and missed summer completely.

Met Éireann say the weather for today will be a bit all over the place, with rain and frost covering the country. Temperatures aren’t too bad, with highs of 14 degrees, however tonight will take a dip so wrap up warm.

The weather forecaster said: “Showery outbreaks of rain will continue to affect parts of Ulster and Leinster this morning but the rest of the country will get off to a dry start. Showers will become more widespread this afternoon but Munster and south-Connacht will continue to have good dry periods. Highs of 10 to 14 degrees in light breezes.”

While tonight, “it will be generally dry and clear overnight. Cool with lows of 1 to 3 degrees and grass frost in places. Fog patches will develop in the calm conditions.”

The weekend is looking up however, with dry, warm and sunny days.

“Dry through Saturday and Sunday with good sunshine on both of the days. Temps on Saturday will range from 11 to 14 degrees in almost calm conditions. During Sunday temps will increase to between 13 and 17 degrees as the breeze turns southeasterly in direction, highest values across Connacht and the Midlands.”
