Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara has been praising her husband Aljaz Škorjanec for taking care of their newborn daughter as she recovers from a c-section.

The professional dancers announced the joyous news on Instagram last week and confirmed they welcomed a baby girl on Friday, July 28th.

The famous dancers also confirmed their little one’s name – Lyra Rose, sharing a photo of Janette cradling their baby and new dad Aljaž grinning from ear to ear next to his family.

“Lyra Rose Skorjanec, July 28, 2023,” they wrote alongside the photo.

Following the birth of their little one, Janette shared an adorable photo of Aljaz taking a much-needed nap, by the looks of things, as their newborn lay in her Moses basket.

She captioned the post: “This is what I woke up to this morning. My heart melted. Aljaz will not leave her side. He is such an incredible father already.

“Watching him with Lyra is so beautiful. It’s so great to see men really taking on being great fathers to their children these days. I feel very lucky in this moment to have such an amazing partner. Love you Bucko.”

Janette has a long recovery ahead of her after she was advised to undergo a c-section and has been on medication for unrelated health issues.

Following her daughter’s birth, the 39-year-old was left with a very itchy and painful rash on her stomach, and opened up to followers about the issue.

She said: “Hi everybody, So I forgot to mention yesterday, I actually got a rash, some kind of a heat rash on my belly.

“So, that’s been a fun little journey to go through. It’s really itchy, but I’m on medication to heal it. Recovery’s been painful as you would expect, but Lyra’s being an angel.

“She’s asleep would you believe, Aljaz is exhausted as you can imagine. He did all the nights last night again.

“But we’re doing good. Lyra is doing really well, and so is Aljaz and I’m getting there slowly.”
