Mrs Hinch is currently being investigated by the Advertising Standards Authority

Rebecca O'Keeffe

Not great for her.

Mrs Hinch has become famous for cleaning – and she’s very good at it.

With over 2.5 million followers on Instagram, it makes sense that she would use her profile to make some money.

The influencer regularly teams up with brands, to promote their products.

And now, it seems as though Mrs Hinch is being investigated by the Advertising Standards Authority.

According to the BBC, the investigation follows three complaints made earlier this year over the “labelling” of product advertisement posts.

You know the #spon and #ad kind of stuff? Yeah, that.

Mrs Hinch has spoken about the investigation, opening up to the BBC about the scenario.

“Being authentic and transparent is incredibly important.”

“I want to ensure my community are clear about any content that is part of a commercial partnership, and that which isn’t.”

“I’m fortunate that brands want to work with me, but I only collaborate with those that I genuinely like and would recommend to people.”

She continued: “I continue to learn a lot, but feel my community are clear about any content that is part of a commercial partnership, and that which isn’t. In fact, I’m overly cautious when it comes to these guidelines and will continue to be.”

The rules for social media influencers are relatively simple.

They must make their commercial relationships “transparent and unambiguous” at all times.

That means simply adding the correct hashtag where applicable.
