Singer Adele, with a personal fortune estimated at a mind-blowing £92 million, is reportedly planning a simple registry office wedding.
The Londoner was introduced to her partner of five years, Simon Konecki, by Ed Sheeran and the happy couple have a four-year-old son named Angelo. Simon is also dad to a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
Simon, who is the boss of a charity called Drop4Drop, was crowned the king of boyfriends after secretly writing romantic messages on thousands of pieces of confetti that fluttered from the ceiling at the end of Adele’s concert in Nashville, Tennessee. The touching gesture was said to mark the loved-up pair’s fifth anniversary.
The couple, having recently moved into their new £6million mansion in Beverly Hills, are now reported to be secretly engaged and planning a low-key, intimate wedding with their nearest and dearest. A source told The Mirror that:
“Adele is still on tour so she would be happy with a simple registry office and knees-up with her closest friends. A good wedding is about having true friends. After the LA wedding, she’ll have a gathering back at home so that no one feels left out.”
But the source says that the Someone Like You singer won’t be turning all showbiz on her old friends anytime soon:
“It won’t be star-studded either. She will invite all her mates she grew up with as well as old friends like Alan Carr and Sid Owen too. She doesn’t really drink so there will be plenty of booze on tap for her guests to make sure they enjoy themselves.”
Adele believes that her planned registry office do, with bangers and mash after, will keep the focus on herself and Simon’s romantic vows to each other.
It is expected that she will take another break from music after her massive world tour wraps up in March so that she can spend more time with little Angelo.
