A 42-year-old man is due to appear in court again today over her death.

A fundraiser to pay for the funeral of a 42-year-old woman murdered on Christmas Eve has raised almost €26,000.

Zeinat Dashabsheh was stabbed to death at her home in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow, on Friday, leaving behind her five children: 22-year-old Layth, 20-year-old Adam, 9-year-old Zara, 8-year-old Saba, and 5-year-old Balqees.

A 42-year-old man has been charged with her murder.

Her second-eldest son, Adam Alzubi, later created a GoFundMe page to help the heartbroken family pay for their mother’s funeral.

“I lost my mother today… My mother was only 42 years of age,” he wrote on the site, adding he has never experienced the loss of a loved one prior to the harrowing incident last week.

He described his mum as the most “beautiful and amazing woman” who would have done anything for her kids and added that she “still had her life to live” before she was cruelly taken from them too soon.

“I set up this fundraiser so that it could pay for her funeral, as little as €1 would help so much,” Adam continued, adding that any money leftover from the funeral would go towards raising his younger sisters.

He finished the fundraiser’s site bio by thanking everyone for their support and donations and wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and New Year. “To Allah we belong and to him we shall return,” it reads.

Five days after Zeinat’s death, the fundraiser to help her family isn’t far off its €30,000 goal.

At the time of this article’s publication, it has received over €25,890 in donations.

The fundraiser page is also filled with comments full of condolences and well-wishes for the young family left without a mum.

Zeinat’s partner, Bahaalddin Al Shwawrah, appeared in court on December 26 charged in connection with her fatal assault.

Judge David Kennedy remanded him in custody pending a further hearing, due to take place today.
