The Welsh mother of triplets who discovered two of her children unresponsive in their home is now enduring another tragedy.
Just ten days after her unimaginable heartache, Sarah Owen learned that her brother had passed away.
It is believed that Steve Owen died of a heart attack on Wednesday – just two days before his 32nd birthday.
He was a father-of-five.
Steve took the news of his nephews’ deaths badly and had been suffering from stress and chest pains.
He had also been helping his sisters arrange the funeral for the five-month old babies and was raising money to meet the family’s expenses.
Police in Wales are still investigating the deaths of little Noah and Charlie, who passed away on Saturday, September 23.
“At 10.05am emergency services attended an address in the Wildmill area of Bridgend to a report of two young children, two of triplets, who were found not breathing,” said a spokesman for the South Wales Police said at the time.
The two babies were transported from their home in an ambulance but were pronounced dead at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend a short time later. Ethan, the surviving triplet, remains healthy and is being cared for by his 29-year-old mother with the support of relatives.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the deaths which are being treated as a tragic accident,” the spokesman added. “This is a particularly sensitive incident, which is still ongoing.”
It is thought the boys may have died on SIDS.
