This new comic book will teach your kids a very important lesson on mental health

Olivia Hayes

Mental health cannot be a taboo subject.

So many people suffer with it during their lives, and so we should be able to talk to our kids about how to handle it themselves, as well as how to react to friends and family who suffer from mental health issues too.

A recent survey found that 1 in 5 kids in Ireland have general anxiety, however a new comic book from Beano is hoping to bring more light to the subject.

The British children’s comic magazine has released a new comic strip in partnership with the children’s mental health charity YoungMinds.

They tweeted today about the comic’s release, saying: “Meet Mandi! She’s @BeanoOfficial‘s latest addition, created in partnership with us, to engage children about mental health.”

Mandi’s story sees her face everyday issues that can create anxiety or stress. Grab a copy of Beano’s 80th anniversary comic to see what happens next!

Mandi and her Mobile follows the life of nine-year-old Mandi, who receives her first phone, and in turn has to learn how to deal with the ups and downs of using it.

Copies of the comic are out now.
