Boy injured in Co. Clare road accident transferred to Temple Street Hospital

The 10-year-old was seriously injured in a road accident in Co. Clare

A young boy who was seriously injured in a road accident in Co. Clare has been moved to Temple Street Hospital.

The boy suffered serious injuries following the accident in Purcell Park in Shannon on Sunday.

However, he has since been moved from University Hospital Limerick and has been admitted to Temple Street Hospital.

According to reports, the boy is in a critical condition in hospital.

The 10-year-old pedestrian was injured in an accident involving a van on February 25th.

Gardaí confirmed a man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident, but he has since been released pending further investigation.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 pm on Sunday.

Gardaí stated: “The child was transported to University Hospital Limerick to receive treatment for serious injuries and has since been transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street.

“A man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released pending further investigations.

“A forensic examination at the scene has been completed, and local traffic diversions have been lifted.

Gardaí are urging witnesses to come forward following the incident.

Any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were traveling in the Purcell Park area between 1:45 pm and 2:30 pm on Sunday are asked to provide this footage to Gardaí.
