According to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the rescue teams found the child. They were then airlifted to the hospital by the HM's Coastguard rescue helicopter.
"The child was found and then airlifted by the helicopter and handed into the care of the ambulance service.”
The child's age, gender, and name have yet to be released.
It is believed they had been reported missing before the discovery was made.
Kent Police have now launched a full investigation into the child's death.
They issued a statement following the child's heartbreaking passing.
"Kent Police, HM Coastguard, and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended an area near Swingate, Dover on the evening of Monday 4 April 2022."
“A child was taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
