Teenage boy killed in tragic road accident in Co. Cork

A teenage boy sadly passed away in a road accident in Co. Cork.

A Garda investigation is underway after a teenage boy died in a road accident in Co. Cork.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a fatal road traffic incident that occurred in the early hours of this morning.

The two-vehicle collision happened around 1 am on the M8 at Ballybeg in Mitchelstown, Co.Cork.

A teenage boy sadly suffered fatal injuries in the accident.

The driver of the car and three other passengers are also being treated at Cork University Hospital, but their injuries are non-life-threatening.

The driver of the other car, a woman in her 30s, was also taken to Cork University Hospital following the accident. She is currently being treated for serious injuries.

Gardaí confirmed a technical examination is now underway at the scene. Local diversions are also in place.
