Brian Dowling has revealed the unusual name he nearly gave his baby girl Blake.
Brian and his husband Arthur Gouroulian almost called their daughter River, but decided to change things when she arrived into the world.
Speaking on his 98FM radio show with Suzanne Kane, Brian said he was set on the name River, but his sister Aoife vetoed it.
Brian explained that he wanted his child to have the same initials as him- BDG.
“We had the name first. I really, really liked a good few names and we settled on Blake and then BDG, Brian Dowling Gourounlian, Blake Gourounlian.”

The couple also honoured Brian’s late mother with her middle name.
“Then Maria Rose. Arthur’s mum and my mum. She is just perfect in every way,” he said.
The presenter welcomed Blake, who is his first child, with husband Arthur in September. The couple’s daughter was born via surrogacy.
Brian’s sister Aoife was their surrogate and he has often praised his sister for giving them the gift of being parents.
In a recent interview with the RTÉ Guide, Brian and Arthur revealed they’d like to have another child in the future with Arthur saying he’d love two more children.
