Shay Lynch was laid to rest on April 24th
The father of Shay Lynch has penned an emotional tribute during his son’s funeral.
The young boy was laid to rest on Wednesday, April 24th. His funeral service took place in St. Senan’s Church, Clonlara.
During the heartbreaking funeral service, Shay’s dad delivered an emotional tribute to him.
He described his son as “such a special boy” and said he was a “gentle and caring” person.
“Thank you for loving me, your mammy and big sister Abi. Your favourite teddy Dougie is in safe hands now with Abi. You were such an amazing artist and so creative in every way,” his father James said.
The dad promised to finish building their son’s playhouse with his sister Abi.
“I know you always said you’d like to be a builder like me and you already had your apprenticeship started and you would have been a great one.
“Thank you for loving me, your mammy and big sister Abi. Your favourite teddy Dougie is in safe hands now with Abi. You were such an amazing artist and so creative in every way,” he continued.
“Until we meet again we will forever miss you. You will always be forever our beautiful boy Shay,” James said as he thanked everyone who helped the family over the past few days.”
The young boy tragically died in a drowning accident at the Lakeside Hotel and Leisure Centre in Killaloe.
The tragic accident happened on Saturday, April 21st. Emergency services rushed the young boy to University Hospital Limerick but he was sadly pronounced dead at the hospital.
