The US Coast Guard has confirmed ‘presumed human remains’ were uncovered from the Titan sub wreckage.

Wreckage from the Titan submersible disaster has been removed from the water following the “catastrophic implosion”.

The human remains will be analysed by medical professionals, the US Coast Guard confirmed.

Debris and other evidence were also recovered from the sea floor at the site of the tragic accident.

Captain Jason Neubauer issued a statement following the discovery:

“The evidence will provide investigators from several international jurisdictions with critical insights into the cause of this tragedy.

“There is still a substantial amount of work to be done to understand the factors that led to the catastrophic loss of the Titan and help ensure a similar tragedy does not occur again.”

OceanGate Inc issued a statement following last week’s tragedy.

“Our hearts are with these five souls and every member of their families during this tragic time. We grieve the loss of life and joy they brought to everyone they knew.

“These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure, and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world’s oceans.”

Five passengers were killed in the tragedy on June 22nd.

British billionaire Hamish Harding, 58, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, French navy veteran Paul-Henri Nargeolet, 77, and Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Suleman, 19 were all declared dead.
