The mother of James Bulger has slammed people for creating AI videos of her son talking about his murder.
The “disgusting” clip went viral on TikTok before the social media app removed it for violating guidelines.
In the AI video, James Bulger talks about what happened to him when he was killed in 1993.
Robert Thompson and Jon Venables were found guilty of killing 2-year-old James in 1993.
However, both murderers have lifelong anonymity because they were minors when they killed him.
His mother has slammed the people who created the harrowing video.
She told The Mirror, “To actually put a dead child’s face, speaking about what happened to him, is absolutely disgusting.
“It is bringing a dead child back to life. It is wrong,” his mother Denise said.
“To use the face and a moving mouth of a child who is no longer here, who has been brutally taken away from us, there are no words.”
The mother said the people who created the video have made her feel “beyond sick” and she believes they are “disturbed”.
TikTok has since taken the video, and similar ones, down, but the public has called for stricter guidelines to be introduced.
A TikTok spokesperson said there “is no place on our platform for disturbing content of this nature”.
“Our community guidelines are clear that we do not allow synthetic media that contains the likeness of a young person. We continue to remove content of this nature as we find it.”
