The family of Lilia Valutyte (9) said they are terrified to go home after their daughter's tragic death.
The 9-year-old girl was stabbed to death in the street in Boston, Lincolnshire last week.
It is believed her family has now been moved to a secret house for their own safety.
Her mother Lina, her husband, and their 5-year-old daughter are "terrified" that their daughter's attacker will target them next.
A source told
The Sun, "The family are so, so worried. They have not been able to stay at home."
"They are worried whoever did this could still be out there. Her family is worried they could be a target.
“It is just so awful — they have the impossible task of trying to come to terms with the loss of Lilia.
“Then they still feel they need to protect their other little daughter," the source added.
Last week, police in Lincolnshire confirmed a 22-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the 9-year-old's death.
22-year-old Deividas Skebas was charged with murder.
Lincolnshire Police stated: "Lithuanian national Deividas Skebas, 22, of Thorold Street, Boston, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, August 1st."
Lilia was found dead outside her mother's shop last week.
She had suffered a stab wound and was discovered in Fountain Lane, Boston, Lincolnshire.
Sources say she was playing with her little sister at the time.
Chief Superintendent Martyn Parker said: “This is a heartbreaking case that has affected many people in Boston, and further afield.
“Our thoughts continue to be with Lilia’s family at this exceptionally difficult time."
