The parents of Max Wall have paid tribute to their son following his untimely passing.

The teenager died during a Leaving Cert holiday to Ios, Greece. Max Wall sadly passed away as he was preparing to leave the island. The 18-year-old collapsed as he was preparing to board a ferry.

It is understood that the young man underwent heart surgery three years before the trip. The initial autopsy confirmed Max died from cardiac problems.

His friend and fellow student Andrew O’Donnell also passed away during the trip. He reportedly fell following a night out and was found on a rocky hill in Ios.

Max’s funeral was held in Donnybrook today with hundreds gathering to pay their respects.

His funeral service took place at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook.

Speaking at the service, his father and mother, Niall and Fiona, said Max was robbed of a bright future.

His parents described Max as a “fabulous son” who they “will love forever”.

According to The Irish Mirror, his father said his son lived a full life.

“Today is a day to remember Max, of course, to mourn his premature death, but also to mark his short but very full life. Max was full of life. He brightened the lives of others. He was the best craic.

His father continued: “He was full of fun. The best kind.”

Andrew O’Donnell will be laid to rest on Wednesday, July 12th. His funeral will also be held at The Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook.
