The cost of holding any form of driver licence in Ireland is about to change, according to the RSA
A hike in the costs associated with driving, from your provisional licence to your test, full driving licence and NCT are all on the way.
Today, the Road Safety Authority confirmed the increases across the board as part “of business planning for the coming year.”
This will be as part of the planned €18m expenditure on public interest activities and government priorities.
“There will be adjustments to fees for a number of RSA services, effective January 1, 2025,” a spokesperson said.
These will be the first changes to costs of services since 2012, and in some cases since 2011.
The following fee adjustments will take effect from January 1, 2025:
- Driving Licence: Increase from €55 to €65
- Learner Permit: Increase from €35 to €45
- Full Test under the National Car Test: Increase from €55 to €60
- Retest under the National Car Test: Increase from €28 to €40
- Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test: 15% increase in the pre-VAT cost
