Tributes pour in as schoolgirl (8) killed in tragic Co. Antrim road accident is pictured

Tributes have been pouring in following the untimely death of 8-year-old Scarlett Rossborough.

The young girl sadly passed away after a road accident in Co. Antrim this week.

The PSNI confirmed Scarlett was the victim of a one-vehicle collision that occurred in the High Street area of Carrickfergus on Wednesday, August 9th.

Tributes have been pouring in for Scarlett Rossborough who has been described as a “much-loved pupil” who had an “infectious giggle”.

Glynn Primary School penned a tribute to the young girl:

“The whole Glynn PS community extends heartfelt condolences to the Rodgers and Rossborough families on the tragic and untimely death of Scarlett. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved her.”

Scarlett’s own primary school also said their community is completley heartbroken following her sudden death.

“Everyone connected with Linn Primary School is devastated to hear about the sudden death of our much-loved pupil Scarlett. She was an energetic, bubbly little girl with an infectious giggle.”

The school said Scarlett was a “breath of fresh air”.

They also remembered Scarlett as a young girl who had a great “sense of fun”.

“As a school community we are truly heartbroken,” they continued.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her parents, her brother, and the extended family circle,” they shared.

The PSNI also paid tribute to the young girl following her passing.

They also urged the public to respect her family during this harrowing time.
