The young boy was stabbed on Sunday night.
A 13-year-old is in serious condition after a stabbing incident in Dublin.
Gardaí confirmed the teenager was stabbed around City Quay on Sunday, February 27th.
It is understood the stabbing happened during the night.
The boy was rushed to Temple Street Hospital, but it is believed his injuries are severe.
Both Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene in the city.
Residents on the north side of the city have been concerned about street violence for years.
Speaking to Dublin Live, Sinn Fein TD Chris Andrew revealed this is an ongoing issue.
He told the publication, “[The community] has been kept hostage because of the events that happen every evening.
Andrews stressed, “The Gardaí need to be involved and Dublin City Council needs to be involved to ensure that whatever measures can be taken are taken.”
He said that there are children fighting every single evening “from 4pm”.
“Everyone was saying it’s only a matter of time before somebody was stabbed or killed,” the TD added.
Staff at Temple Street are treating the young boy. They’re doing their utmost best to treat the serious injuries he sustained in the attack.
We’re keeping the young boy and his parents in our thoughts.
