Teenage boy left fighting for his life following attack in Swords

A teenage boy has been left fighting for his life following a serious assault in Swords. Gardáí confirmed that a teenage boy was seriously assaulted at around 7 pm. He was rushed to Beaumont Hospital on Thursday evening. The young man is believed to be in critical condition. The assault occurred on Brookdale Avenue in Swords. The scene has since been preserved for a technical examination. Gardaí also confirmed that a man in his early 20s has been arrested. A Garda spokesperson stated; "A male, aged in his early 20s has since been arrested. The man was arrested for an offence contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, of 1997. "He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984." Gardaí are calling on witnesses to come forward.
