She was charged with allowing the murder of her son.
Tracey Connelly was told to change her appearance before she was released from prison.
Connelly was found guilty of allowing her son Peter's death in 2007. In 2009, the mum was charged with allowing his death and sentenced to indefinite imprisonment for public protection, subject to a minimum term of five years.
However, she was originally released in 2013 but returned to prison in 2015 for breaching her parole.
She has been refused parole multiple times since then, but the court agreed that the 40-year-old should be released from prison this month.
It is believed Connelly was removed from prison in Durham on Wednesday night. She was taken to a secret bail hostel so she can "begin a new life".
However, prior to her release, Connelly was told to change her appearance.
According to The Sun, a source from Low Newton prison said Connelly was told to lose weight and dye her hair before her release.
“She just walks about singing and dancing. They were all fed up with it, even the prison officers," the source told the publication.
“One of the inmates said to her: ‘What have you got to sing and dance about? You killed your kid!’.”
“She was taken out on the prison bus. She knew it was happening but nobody else did," they added.
Connelly's release comes with multiple conditions.
She has to wear an ankle tag and she must disclose all of her relationships to probation chiefs.
The parole board agreed that the risk of Connelly reoffending was low.
However, members of Connelly's own family said she is still a danger.
They previously told The Sun that releasing her would be a mistake.
