'Tis the season. Following this week's not exactly red-hot Budget reveal, it's time to hit up that other daily life index we all know and love – the weather.
It's almost October so you know what that means – it's getting colder, darker, wetter, et cetera. Sure enough, Met Éireann has issued a brand new Status Yellow warning, with six counties affected.
Those counties in question are Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. Per the national broadcaster, conditions will become wet and windy late on Thursday night (29 September), remaining so into Friday morning and afternoon.
Strong and gusty southerly winds are expected to develop. Heavy rainfall, meanwhile, may result in some localised flooding.
This warning is valid from 2am on Friday morning and will stay in place until 2pm that day.

As for the impending weekend, Friday will indeed kick off in wet and windy fashion as widespread outbreaks of heavy rain and some "squally downpours" take hold. Spot flooding is possible.
The rain should clear eastwards into the Irish Sea by the afternoon, with sunny spells and showers to follow from the west. Highest daytime temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees are forecast, dropping to 9 to 12 in the evening.
Saturday promises to be "a bright day for many", according to Met Éireann. Sunshine, showers and cloudy conditions are all on the horizon, though. Highest daytime temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees are expected, dropping to between 6 and 10 degrees later on.
Sunday looks to be predominantly dry, with sunny spells and just a few showers. Top temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees are anticipated during the day, with lows of 6 to 10 once again expected by nightfall.
