A young boy from Belgium is set to break a massive educational record when he graduates from college next month.

Nine-year-old Laurent Simons is currently completing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Eindhoven’s University of Technology.

A three-year degree which he will complete in nine months.

The Belgian boy with an IQ of 145 completed secondary school in one year and now, is on track to break the Guinness World Record for “youngest person to obtain a college degree”.

“He’s maybe three times smarter than the smartest student we’ve ever had,” said programme director Sjoerd Hulshof.

Laurent is currently trying to develop a computer circuit that will replicate part of the brain in college but, his studies won’t end when he graduates next month.

The young boy has plans to continue his college education having received hundreds of offers from universities around the world. With the help of his parents, Laurent is currently trying to choose one and has his eyes set of the west coast of America.

However, like any young boy his age, when Laurent isn’t studying or completing a challenging degree at such a young age, he likes to play Fortnite and post photos on Instagram.

You and me both.
