We thought the worst was over?

Where the Hell is spring?’ we cry. With every passing day and every fleeting minute of sun, we think that the bad weather is gone, but no. It just comes back again. And again.

Met Éireann has just issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for seven counties in Ireland.

Its website reads: “The showers will be heaviest and most frequent in the southwest and west. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with fresh to strong and gusty southeast winds, veering southwesterly later in the day.”

And the outlook for the week: “Monday night will be wet and windy with heavy rain in many areas and a risk of localised flooding. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees with strong, gusty southerly winds.

“On Tuesday morning, rain will gradually clear eastwards. Showers will follow for the rest of the day, some heavy. Strong southerly winds will decrease moderate to fresh. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees.”

The rainfall warning is for Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford. The warning has been put in place from today until Tuesday at 9am.
