In an opinion piece for Lancet, Professor Sawyer said that it's *apparently* because they finish school later, and don't move out of their parents' houses as early as other generations.
“Delayed timing of role transitions, including completion of education, marriage, and parenthood, continue to shift popular perceptions of when adulthood begins."
And because of this, the Director of the Centre for Adolescent Health at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne says that this is cause to put "a more realistic age range [to] appropriately shape laws and social policy."
We don't like this. We don't like it at all.
Hopefully, it's not a sign of what's to come for us.
