“My life has been so public”
Model, DJ, actress and entrepreneur, Paris Hilton revealed that she hid her son’s birth from her friends and family for a whole week.
Privacy can be limited when you live in the public eye like Paris so when her son Phoenix was born via surrogate, she wanted to spend the first week completely alone with him.
According to People magazine, Paris and her husband, Carter Reum, spend the first week celebrating the birth of their baby boy in private.
She opened up on the subject on her podcast, ‘This is Paris‘ and said herself and her hubby wanted to keep “everything really private.”
Paris explained: “Not even my mom, my sisters, my best friend knew until he was over a week old.
“It was really nice to have that with Carter, be our own journey together. I just feel like my life has been so public, and I’ve never really had anything be just mine.”

“I made a pact that we would not tell anyone”
Paris has lived a very public life and said her privacy has been “invaded” more times than she could count. But, her husband has always lived quite privately.
In her podcast she said it was very hard to keep her son a secret.
She said: “So when we were talking about it, I really felt that I wanted this journey to be for us only.
“Because we were so excited and wanted to tell our families, but we were just nervous because if you tell a person, then they tell someone, and all the sudden, it’s in TMZ or Page Six, and I’ve had enough of my life like that.
“So Carter and I literally made a pact together that we would not tell anyone.”
Carter is an author and businessman who grew up in Chicago and already shares a daughter with ex Laura Bellizi.
Paris and Carter married in November 2021 and had their first child together in January 2023 via a surrogate.
Paris announced her son’s arrival by sharing a photo of her holding his hand on Instagram.
Alongside the photo, she wrote: “You are already loved beyond words.”
His name was Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum, wanting to stick with the theme of being named after a city – like herself.
