There’s a petition to ‘offer’ Ireland a chance to rejoin the United Kingdom

Rebecca O'Keeffe

Nah mate.

So, the big B day is getting closer.

And by big B, we mean Brexit of course.

It has been a topic on the lips of people everywhere, with the people of Ireland mainly concerned with the border scenario.

Well, one Englishman has decided that perhaps we don’t need a border… if we were to rejoin the United Kingdom.

Scott Packer has created a petition designed to offer the Republic of Ireland full membership to the United Kingdom.

No border, no problem in Scott’s eyes.

“The ROI left our Union in 1922 after 121 years of being part of the family.”

“We should now ask them to reconsider their position within both the UK & EU as a way of solving the current impasse over the Irish border issue that is holding up the Withdrawal Agreement.”

“Britain & Ireland stronger together.”

You couldn’t make this shit up lads.

And what’s worse? It has over 2000 signatures already, with a goal of getting 10,000 by July of this year.

If the petition gets 10,000 signatures, the government will respond to it.

And apparently if it gets 100,000, the issue will be debated in parliament.

Let’s hope it doesn’t get that far…
