Princess Catherine has responded to public concern after sharing a new Mother’s Day photo

Kate Middleton has responded to public concern about a recently ‘manipulated’ photo of her.

The royals posted a photo of Kate and her three children to mark Mother’s Day, but theories about the ‘manipulated’ image quickly spread online.

Many claimed the photo was heavily edited and others even claimed it was fake.

Kate confirmed she had edited the photo before it was published on social media.

She explained: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.”

Princess Catherine apologised to the public for sparking concern and stressed that she meant no harm.

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.”

The mum added: “I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”

It’s been months since the princess was seen in public, but the Mother’s Day image reassured royal fans following Kate’s absence.

She extended her gratitude to the public who have been supporting her since her surgery in January.

She added: “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months. Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C.”

The mum underwent planned abdominal surgery in mid-January but has been recovering at home in Windsor ever since.

The details of Kate’s operation have remained private, but royal officials stressed that she is recovering well.
