The Queen's aunt, Princess Mary, held the title of Princess Royal until she passed away in 1965.
Queen Elizabeth gave her eldest daughter, Ann, the title in 1987, when she was 36.
Unlike typical titles, the Princess Royal is not inherited - it is gifted at the discretion of the monarch.
With Princess Charlotte being the eldest daughter of Prince William, it is likely that she will eventually become Princess Royal.
However, in order to receive this title, William will have to be King, and Princess Ann will have passed away.
So, we have a long time to wait, I hope.
