A spokesperson at Buckingham Palace said the 95-year-old is "disappointed" the trip is no longer going ahead.
“The Queen has reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for the next few days," they stated.
“Her Majesty is in good spirits and is disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland, where she had been due to undertake a series of engagements today and tomorrow."
The spokesperson added, "The Queen sends her warmest good wishes to the people of Northern Ireland, and looks forward to visiting in the future." According to royal reporter Omid Scobie, the trip cancellation is not Covid related. The news comes just a day after the Queen welcomed business leaders, presidential envoys and tech entrepreneurs to Windsor Castle. Prince Charles and The Duke of Cambridge joined Her Majesty at the reception to mark the Global Investment Summit.
