The reason why Queen Elizabeth won’t be at Archie’s christening next month

Meghan and Harry welcomed their first child last month on May 6 at the Portland Hospital in London.

Since then, we’ve gotten small glimpses of the little one, including one this weekend to celebrate Father’s Day.

The photo, posted on Meghan and Harry’s Sussex Royal Instagram account this afternoon, shows the newborn holding his Dad’s finger while staring intently at the camera.

Archie is wearing a baby grow that appears to have a selection of farm animals on it, just to make the photo that bit cuter.

It’s clear that fans of the royal family just can’t wait to see more of baby Archie, and the next time he’ll have an outing is going to be his christening.

According to the Daily Mail, Archie’s baptism will take place next month at St. George’s Chapel, the same place where his mum and dad, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, got married last year.

There will be one notable absence though. The publication reports that Queen Elizabeth “will be absent on other duties,” at the time of the christening.

While she did attend Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s christenings, she was not present for when Prince Louis got baptised.
