Awkward.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry introduced their newborn son to the world yesterday.
The new parents did a photo call with their son, where Meghan told the waiting press that he was “an absolute dream.”
And after introducing the newborn to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, they announced his name: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The royal family also unveiled Archie’s page on the website, welcoming the youngest member of the royal family.
However, they initially introduced the newborn as “the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge” – aka, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The page on Royal.co.uk said:
“Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 05.26am on Monday May 6.
“He is the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and is seventh in line to the throne.
“Archie weighed 7lb 30oz and The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.”
It has since been updated to Archie being “the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex” – but not before some eagle-eyed royal fans managed to screenshot it.
I think I speak for all of us who have been working on the Baby Sussex Story when I say that mistakes happen to the best of us when we’re tired! pic.twitter.com/0pSqHJEdlt

On Wednesday, the proud parents met with press in St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle as they shared the first look at her little boy.
The Duchess of Sussex spoke about the “magic” of becoming a mum, adding:
“It’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy.
“[Archie] has the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm. He’s just been the dream so it’s been a special couple of days.”
