Speaking to the Sunday World over the weekend, Ryan said that he still loves doing the Late Late. “I have this really interesting job, that is why I am not going anywhere today or tomorrow – what a jammy gig. "It’s a great, fun gig, talking to people you have spent your life watching or listening to. “It’s intriguing meeting them in real life.” Ryan also said that he doesn't suffer from imposter syndrome in the job. “No, I’m quite entitled to be here. “I got my membership card and I earned my points. I am flying first class." He went on to reveal that he did expect his successor to be a woman. "If I was to look at potential [hosts] after me, I would say the front runners would be female. “Good luck to whoever it is, but the position is not vacant yet.”"A woman’s never presented RTÉ’s biggest show and that has to change," a source told The Sun at the time.
"Gender equality is such a hot issue right now and our State broadcaster has to be seen to be listening.”
