Ryan Tubridy shares a special bond with the Toy Show star.

There have been waves of support for Toy Show star Saoirse Ruane since doctors found another tumour at the start of the month.

The Galway girl stole the public’s hearts when she first appeared on the Toy Show in 2020. Since her appearance, Saoirse’s doctors have found multiple tumours, with the most recent diagnosis happening just a week ago.

Ryan Tubridy was heartbroken following the news but urged the public to send their love and support Saoirse’s way as she prepared to fight for a third time.

The 11-year-old and her family share a very special relationship with the broadcaster after Saoirse first appeared on the Toy Show.

Ryan has even been to visit their family home and also invited Saoirse back on the Late Late.

Speaking on his RTÉ Radio 1 show, Tubridy said Saoirse is a dear friend of his.

“Let me say good morning to Saoirse, my friend, who is sitting in her car now, heading to Dublin with her family.

“She’s probably going, ‘Oh, my goodness, what the hell is he doing? He’s embarrassing me!’

“I just want to wish her every bit of love and happiness and hopefully news is good and that you are well and minded and loved and looked after, as I know you are.”

Tubridy encouraged the public to send a card or letter to Saoirse during this heartbreaking time.

“I think she’d like it because she’s a sweetheart.”

And the public certainly delivered.

Saoirse’s mum confirmed doctors found another tumour this week.

Saoirse’s heartbroken mum said they found out the news during one of Saoirse’s medical reviews.

Following another hospital visit, her mum praised Saoirse, who is only 11, for her strength and bravery.

“Saoirse was so brave today and is now happy to be home again in our safe place.

“When she started this journey she was only 7. Her second diagnosis came at the age of 10 and now her third at the young age of 11.

“It’s unimaginable. I’ve never ever seen such resilience in anyone before and we couldn’t be prouder,” her mum added.

You can also support Saoirse by sending a card or letter to her at the following address: Saoirse Ruane, Kiltullagh, Co. Galway.
