This mum has created a new Christmas tradition

A mother has explained why she makes her children send their Christmas letters to Mrs Claus instead of Santa.

Writing your Christmas letter is one of the most exciting parts of the holiday season, but this mum has made a change to the magical tradition.

She explained that her children no longer send their letters to Santa but to Mrs. Claus instead.

The mum believes Mrs Claus deserves to be credited for all the work she does behind the scenes.

Penny Middleton told Today.com: “Everything is for Mrs. Claus, henceforth. I am an intersectional feminist and I explained to my daughter … ‘Mrs. Claus usually hangs back to make sure everything runs smoothly but nobody really thanks her.”

She said Mrs Claus does so much work that goes unnoticed, just like mums.

@pennymiddleton Mrs. Claus doesn't just deck the halls; she's the unsung hero ensuring the North Pole runs smoothly while Santa gets all the credit. 🤶🏾 👏🏽 #mrsclaus #christmas #newyork #ticktock #comedy #new #holiday #TikTokMagic #feminism #intersecionalfeminism ♬ original sound – Penny Middleton

She added: “We’ve all been believing in this collective delusion. You cannot tell me that this man … organizes Christmas and goes around the world, makes a list, and checks it twice, without the help of this woman.”

The mum started to question the classic tradition last year when she was building a Barbie Dreamhouse for her little girl and her husband was confused.

“I told him, ‘She’s not going to want to sit and watch you build it — she’ll want to wake up and play. He said, ‘That’s really incredible, and I never would have thought to do that.’”

She said they now leave out Christmas treats and a letter for Mrs Claus rather than Santa.

What do you think about her Christmas tradition?
