“No other cream or ointment comes close.”
Parents have been left heartbroken after one of their holy grail products has been discontinued.
Taking to Reddit, one mum shared how she was no longer able to find one of her favourite products to treat nappy rash anymore.
The item, which is normally readily available in supermarkets, has been impossible to find as of late.
She revealed that she emailed the manufacturer of the ointment, Thornton & Ross, to find out whether it was still available.
She wrote: “I’ve been unable to find Metanium Yellow in the shops, emailed them, and they’ve responded saying it’s been discontinued! Does anyone have any other recommendations? It’s the only thing that works when my son gets nappy rash.”
Parents rushed to agree that Metanium Yellow is one of the best treatments out there for nappy rash.
“It’s like miracle stuff,” one penned. “It was genuinely the only thing that completely healed nappy rash overnight.
“No other cream or ointment comes close. RIP yellow metanium.”
The manufacturers issued a statement about the discontinuation on their website.
“Thornton & Ross has taken the decision to discontinue Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment.
“This is due to constraints that have impacted our ability to guarantee consistent supply and maintain the high standards of excellence we strive for in all our products.
“We understand Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment was a valued product and we assure you that this decision was not taken lightly.
“Our commitment to continuously providing effective and high-quality products remains unwavering.”
They urged parents to try their Everyday Barrier Ointment instead.
