Saoírse Ruane’s mum has shared an update on her daughter’s health after she underwent her first full week of radiotherapy treatment.

The Late Late Toy Show star and her family were told the devastating news last month that Saoírse had a third tumour and would need to undergo more treatment.

Saoírse appeared on the Toy Show in 2020 following cancer treatment which left her having her leg amputated.

Her mum Roseanna has taken to Instagram to share an update following her most recent treatment, giving details about how much progress has been made.

Sharing a video of her 11-year-old, she wrote: “Our Girl Our World Childhoodcancer.

“A lot of you ask how Saoírse is doing and we’re so appreciative for that. We couldn’t possibly get back to everyone individually so here is a little update.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Saoírse today as she completed her first full week of Radiotherapy treatment. That’s 10 sessions to date and all going well, she’ll complete a further two more sessions next week.

“Treatment can make her tired and her appetite is up and down but Saoírse being Saoírse, she is still smiling and she has never once complained,’ the post continued.

“We came home to beautiful sunshine this afternoon and hope to see it last.

“We’re taking this third diagnosis one day at a time and once more want to thank you all for the continued prayers and candles not only nationwide but also worldwide. We are so so grateful.”

Saoírse is undergoing treatment for a recurrent tumour at Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Her family confirmed the 11-year-old had been diagnosed with cancer again in April.
