Bags of spinach leaves and mixed leaves have been recalled from multiple supermarkets due to the presence of Listeria.

The products affected by Listeria monocytogenes were being sold in Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Dunnes Stores, and Supervalu.

Customers are advised to dispose of the bags.

A statement on the Food Safety Authority Ireland (FSAI)’s website reads:

“Following the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in a batch of spinach leaves, a range of fresh spinach products is being recalled.

“The products identified in the tables with a code of 260 or 261 are implicated. Retailers are advising customers to dispose of the packs. Some spinach products distributed to caterers are also implicated.”

The products include Lidl’s and Aldi’s Irish Baby Leaf Spinach, Dunnes Store’s Fresh Ready To Wash Spinach Leaves and Loose & Lively Baby Leaves.

Aldi’s Mixed Leaves and Tesco and Supervalu’s Loose & Lively Mixed Leaves were also affected.

The product codes are 260 and 261.
