Spotify is releasing playlists and podcasts for your pets

This is an interesting one.

We all want the best for our pets, and while they all come with different personalities, we want them to be as relaxed and comfortable as they can be.

According to the Independent, Spotify is releasing playlists and podcasts suited specifically to animals. Users will soon be able to choose songs suited for cats, dogs, birds and iguanas.

Experts say that owners and pets can both listen along as research has seen that music can help calm animals.

Pet physiologist and professor at the University of Glasgow, Neil Evans, said: “While there is a lot of scientific research that has shown that short periods of music can make dogs more relaxed, we have shown that providing dogs with varied auditory enrichment can be used to reduce stress and anxiety over longer periods of time.

“When dogs have appropriate auditory enrichment they may bark less, lie down and sleep more, and their body’s are in a more relaxed physiological state.”

It is said that when pets are left on their own, it can also comfort them.

Of course, nothing is better than spending time with your furry friends, however if it makes pets more relaxed and happy it’s definitely worth a try.
