21 degrees and sunny spells: Met Éireann’s latest forecast is very promising

Anna O'Rourke

Fed up of the dull weather? We have some good news.

Met Éireann says that temperatures could reach 21 degrees this weekend and that next week will be mild and sunny.

“High pressure is likely to dominate the weather pattern, resulting in predominantly dry and settled conditions with a good deal of sunshine for many areas,” the forecaster has predicted for next week.

“While daytime temperatures look likely to range near to, or above, the seasonal norm, many of the nights could be rather cool with some mist and fog patches.”

Saturday looks promising too. It’s set to be a dry day across Leinster and Munster with sunny spells, though it may get hazy later in the day. It may be breezier and cloudier in Connacht and Ulster, with rain likely in the afternoon or evening. Temperatures are expected to range between 16 and 21 degrees.

Conditions are set to be more uncertain on Sunday and Monday. Met Éireann says that Sunday will be mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain, though temperatures in the south could climb to 19 or 20 degrees.

Monday‘s forecast is for a slow-moving weather front, “producing cloud and patchy rain and drizzle for southern counties, with drier and brighter conditions prevailing further north. Highs in the mid to high teens in mainly light breezes.”
