“There is absolutely no excuse for this behaviour”

A teacher, who was caught punching and kicking a horse on camera, has been suspended from the school she works in.

Hertfordshire Hunt Saboteurs filmed the horrifying incident on Twitter.

The woman was identified as 37-year-old Sarah Moulds.

She teaches at Somerby Primary School. She is also the director of Knossington and Somerby Pre-School in Leicestershire.

Mowbray Education Trust issued a statement:

“We can confirm that a member of staff has been suspended pending a formal investigation into an incident that occurred at the weekend. We will not be making any further comment while the investigation is in progress.”

A friend of Sarah Moulds told The Sun that she has received death threats since the video went viral.

“It’s awful and has got very much out of hand. She fears for her life. She has young children and she is worried about them as well as herself.”

“She’s well known and respected in equestrian circles and her social media was bombarded with comments from very angry people after the video went viral and she’s now had to close it down.”

The woman has been removed from her role as a team organiser at The Pony Club.

“The welfare of horses and ponies is of the utmost importance to The Pony Club, therefore the lady in question has been removed from her voluntary position as a team organiser for a branch,” the club stated.

People have called the video “vile” and said her actions were “cruel and disgusting”.

One woman shared, “As a horsewoman myself, nothing makes me angrier than seeing footage such as this. It is shameful. There is absolutely no excuse for this behaviour. No matter how frustrated you are, no matter if you’ve had a bad day. Horses are so sensitive.”
