Tesco recalls thousands of condoms in Ireland due to ‘bursting’ fears

This is not good.

Tesco Ireland has recalled thousands of Durex condoms as they were sold too close to their expiry date and there are fears they could burst while in use.

The Durex condoms named ‘Real Feel’ and ‘Latest Feel’ are the items in question and have been recalled due to well… we all know what could happen.

A spokesperson for Tesco Ireland told The Irish Sun that packs of 12 and 18 condoms are dated January and February 2016, but were still for sale in stores until a number of weeks ago.

A statement put up on the official Tesco website reads: “Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc are recalling certain batches of DUREX REAL FEEL & DUREX LATEX FREE condoms.

“They recently found that a limited number of the above condoms are not passing their stringent shelf-life durability tests as they fail the requirements for burst pressure towards the end of their shelf life.”

Customers who have purchased these items should return non-latex Durex Real Feel and Durex Latex Free condoms with the recalled batch numbers to the store they bought them from for a full refund.

More information on returns can be found on the Durex website.

Customers are urged to contact the Durex care line on 01 630 5429 or e-mail [email protected] if they have any questions.
