Hmmm.

The nights are getting longer and colder, you’re waiting for all the November releases on Netflix – you may as well try a new sex position, right?

Diligent journalists that we are here at Her, we’d always be looking to keep up with the latest developments in this important area of interest – but when we came across one of the latest ‘must-try’ positions, we were a little underwhelmed.

Have you heard of the ‘Ice Cream’?

It’s been touted as something to try if you’re looking to switch things up during sex, and according to the folks at a website called SexPositions (yep, really), it’s fairly straightforward.

“The man sits on his legs and his back is straight,” according to the instructions.

“The woman sits on the partner as on a chair, her legs are bent and opened apart so that the man’s knees are between them.

“She holds hands around the male partner’s hips, offers him the neck with head leaned backwards a little, in his turn, he puts his hands on her breast, caresses her and kisses her neck gently.”

It sounds nice in theory but there’s one problem – it’d only suit women who can orgasm from vaginal penetration.

With the man caressing the woman all over and her facing away from him, there’s no clitoral stimulation.

The woman could of course stimulate herself but when there’s someone else there, that might seem a little pointless.

That’s not to say it won’t work if you can’t come from penetration – get your partner on the case or maybe use a toy to help get things moving.
