Calling all cinema fans.

The Stella Cinema is opening a new location in Dublin this weekend – and it sounds absolutely amazing.

The boutique cinema is located in Ranelagh, on the bottom floor of the new Devlin Hotel – although it is open to all members of the public, not just those staying in the hotel.

The Stella, Ranelagh, is going to focus on indie, arthouse and cult classic style movies – highlighting Irish films in particular.

The cinema itself is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and bespoke armchairs and couches, creating an intimate surrounding.

The cinema is wheelchair accessible through a lift in The Lobby and sloped floors in the theatre.

Karl Geragthy, Theatre Director for the Stella Theatres, said:

“The design is completely different to our Rathmines theatre. Here we stripped things back and focused on classic mid-century furniture and clean crisp Danish design.

“Where you’ll see similarities between the two theatres are with the entrance, we’ve created a mini replica of the Rathmines theatre in the lower ground floor of The Devlin, and with the commitment of service.

“Just like in Rathmines, our Ranelagh theatre will have a fully functioning cocktail bar and delicious food menu including Barbecue Pulled Pork Belly Sandwich, Fish Tacos, a selection of Flatbreads and lots more to choose from, which is delivered down to your seat while you watch some of the best movies in the world.”

“The Dublin 6 neighbourhood is famed for its amazing restaurants, cosy pubs and love for all things art and culture, so we hope that the new Stella Theatre will become part of Ranelagh’s growing cultural landscape.”

Tickets for the new theatre can be purchased here – and cost €19 for a single armchair, or €38 for a two-person couch.
