This company treats pregnant employees to a $2,000 shopping spree

While many companies around the world continue to view pregnancy with vague hostility, one Utah company is celebrating mums-to-be on its staff with a $2,000 shopping spree.

Business date start-up Domo came up with the idea last year when an assistant to CEO and founder, Josh James was expecting her first child. James realised how expensive it can be for women to change their entire work wardrobe in order to accommodate their pregnancy.

Now Domo employees can rest assured that cost needn’t be prohibitive when dressing a bump.

Domo currently offers four weeks paid maternity leave and two weeks paternity leave – much more than the average in the US, where  most women return to work less than two weeks after giving birth and 12 per cent take less than one week off.

Employees who are first-time parents can also look forward to a $1,000 baby bonus ($2,000 for twins).
