The size of the support team was revealed this week when the Duke and Duchess invited many of the people who were present at the births of their cildren, including Professor Tiong Ghee Teoh, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, and consultant anaesthetist Dr Johanna Bray, to a Buckingham Palace garden party.
Professor Teoh revealed that he was a member of the 'back up' team, a group of leading experts who were on call for three months before Kate's due date.
The team included:
‘She was a fit young woman, that’s the most important thing. At the end of the day you want to deliver a healthy, happy baby to a a healthy happy mother - and that’s what happened.’
Both Kate and William's royal babies were born at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital in Paddington, London. Both William and Prince Harry were also born at the hospital, with Kate making a public appearance on the steps as she left after both births, just as Princess Diana did in June of 1982 as she left with William and later once again with Harry.
