Teenage girl killed in car accident in Tralee

The accident happened in Tralee on Saturday evening.

A teenage girl has sadly passed away in a road accident in Tralee, Co. Kerry.

The victim has not yet been named.

Gardaí have launched an investigation following the single-vehicle road traffic collision. The accident happened at around 5:15 pm on October 29th.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Derrymore East Tralee.

Gardaí confirmed a girl, who was the front passenger, died at the scene. She was aged in her teens.

The male driver (40s) was taken to University Hospital Kerry, but his injuries are non-life-threatening.

There were other occupants in the car at the time, but they were also uninjured.

The road is currently closed in order for a technical examination to be carried out. Local diversions have also been put in place.

Gardaí are calling on witnesses to come forward following the accident.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) have been asked to contact Gardaí.

Those who were on the main Tralee to Camp road, specifically Derrymore East (between 4:45 pm and 5:30 pm) should contact Gardaí.
