The controversial scene has been removed from beloved kid’s TV show ‘Bluey’.

Parents have expressed their relief after a controversial episode of Bluey was edited. The beloved children’s show recently featured scenes that caused quite a stir online with many viewers accusing the show of ‘fat-shaming’.

In the episode, Bluey’s dad, Bandit, is seen weighing himself. During the scene, the dad says, “Oh man … I just need to do some exercise.”

Bluey’s mum then replies, “Tell me about it”.

The scene has now been removed from the show, according to ABC. A spokesperson for the network confirmed the show has been edited since it originally aired and the controversial scene is now longer part of the episode.

The spokesperson shared, “The recent episode of Bluey, Exercise, has been republished by the ABC following a decision by the makers of the programme. The new version provides families with the opportunity to manage important conversations in their own way.

“As the home of Bluey, the ABC supports the decision to re-edit the program and we have updated the episode on our platforms. BBC Studios will use this revised version for global distribution and also support this decision.”

Many parents were thrilled to see the network edit the episode, but others were less than impressed.

One person wrote, “What’s wrong with deciding to exercise more to stay healthy after finding yourself overweight? I think it’s a positive message for everyone including kids.”

Another added, “There is nothing wrong with people realizing they need to exercise or eat better. Stop the madness.”
