When should my child write their letter to Santa?

Kat O'Connor

Christmas will be here before we know it so it’s time to get organised.

Being a parent at Christmas is a pretty magical (and expensive) time. Seeing your kids embrace the festive spirit makes the holidays feel even more special, especially when they still believe in Santa.

There’s nothing quite as sweet as seeing your kids sneak downstairs to get a glimpse of Father Christmas on December 25th. Their belief in the Christmas magic makes things feel different. It’s a special experience that only lasts a short time, so we want to make the most of it.

One of our favourite Christmas traditions is helping our kids write their letters to Santa.

But when should they start scribbling and sending letters to the man himself?

Postal workers have confirmed it is best to send your Santa letter in late November. That gives it plenty of extra time to reach the North Pole.

The latest you should post your Santa letter is the first week of December, according to An Post.

If you’re helping your kids write their Santa letters then be sure to address it to ‘Santa Claus, The North Pole’.

You should also include your child’s name and address in the top left-hand corner.

Make a day of it and pop on your child’s favorite Christmas movie and set up a little letter-writing station for them.

It really is the most wonderful time of year.
