Tried and tested! Here are the finalists for the Maternity and Infant Family Awards

They're in, mums and dads!

The finalists for the Boots Maternity and Infant Family Awards have been announced. So in case you're looking to stock up on a few new bits and bobs for a little baby, this may come in very handy.

Seeing as the parenting and baby industry is a big (and IMPORTANT) business, we like to know what superb products are out there and winning the votes. Boots Maternity and Infant Awards are playing host to a gala lunch on Friday October 12, at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dún Laoghaire, along with Maura Derrane and Brian Dowling.

Here, we'll see the the winning products AND the winners themselves, while all will be showcased again on RTE's Today show, the following week.

But we thought we'd take a sneak peek at the finalists and see what terrific baby products are worth keeping our eyes on. From buggies to cribs, from shampoos and shoes - they've all been voted on, tested and approved by Irish parents, for Irish parents.

All products, including pregnancy supplements, and baby skincare, go through a rigorous testing regime by either the Maternity and Infant Family Home Testers or by over 100 judges at their Academy Testing Day. And just as important - they also undergo an online public vote, because mums know best. For the home testers, over 200 judges nationwide received products from different categories including Best Skin Care, Best Baby Wipes and Best Nappy Range to name but a few.

At our Academy Testing Day, judges rigorously tested products in Best Family Car, Best Stroller, Best Travel System and many more.

And let's not forget about our people categories which will see winners announced at the lunch gala next week. These categories include Child Hero of the Year, Business Parent of the Year, Mum of the Year and Super Sibling of the Year, to name just a few.
